This research aimed to determine prediction of marital disaffection based on marital conflicts and relationship beliefs among divorce applicant couples. The population of this study consisted of all divorce applicant couples referred to family court and dispute resolution council of Mashhad city during the fall of 2019. For this purpose, 100 couple (200 people) from the mentioned population selected by purposive sampling. For gathering data, marital disaffection scale (MDS; Kayser‚ 1996), marital conflicts questionaire-revised (MCQ-R; Sanaei, et. al. 2008) and relationship beliefs inventory (RBI; Eidelson & Epstein, 1982) were used. Data were analysed through Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression method. The results of Pearson correlation coefficient analysis showed that some of marital conflicts components have a significant relationship with marital disaffection. Also there were significant relationships between relationship beliefs and marital disaffection of divorce applicant couples. Similarly, the results of regression analysis showed that some of marital conflicts and some of relationship beliefs could predict marital disaffection. Based on the results of this study and the role of marital conflicts and relationship beliefs in predicting marital disaffection, family counselors could consider these componnents in premarital counseling and about marital conflicts as well as counseling with divorce applicant couples, and could provide relevant interventions in these fields.
