Background & Aims: The study of attachment styles in relation to emotional divorce has attracted increasing attention in recent years. In any society that talks about trust, it is also possible to break it.
Recently, due to the wavering of values and changes in social norms that have caused changes in attitudes, expectations, and due to the changes that have occurred in the structure and relationships between couples, we are faced with a new division that divides divorce into two types, official and Emotionally divorce. In an official divorce, a man and a woman are legally separated from each other by referring to the court and have no obligations towards each other, but emotional divorce is the most important factor in the disintegration of the structure and the most fundamental part of society, i.e. the family, and causes the emotional disintegration of the family. it is possible.
In the explanation of emotional divorce, different approaches have been presented, each of which has tried to justify and explain the phenomenon of emotional divorce according to the psychological approaches of theorists, and for example, the theory of attachment styles proposes and explains the attachment styles of adults. If there are defective interactions between attachment styles, it provides the ground for entering the stages of emotional divorce and separation.
Another important reason that has a significant impact on emotional divorce is marital burnout. Every person starts his marital relationship with love and interest in his natural form, and his initial speculations are to maintain and continue this relationship. But sometimes, after some time, the husband and wife or both of them may have doubts about the depth and shape of their relationship, and because they do not see the necessary harmony between their expectations of life and the realities of their marriage, they may experience disappointment and disappointment. Get married.
By summarizing the said material, it can be concluded that so far, various theoretical structures have been investigated and researched regarding the underlying factors related to behavioral and personality problems in divorce applicants; but few of them have come in the form of a single model that shows the mutual relations of these structures with each other. Therefore, according to the above-mentioned materials, the aim of the present study was to investigate the structural relationships of attachment styles in divorce applicants with emotional divorce mediated by marital burnout.
Methods: This research is applied in terms of its purpose and descriptive of the correlation type in terms of research method. The statistical population of this research includes all divorce applicants in Tabriz metropolis. A number of 250 people were selected as a sample using convenience sampling and Gutman's Emotional Divorce Scale, Attachment Styles Questionnaire and Marital burnout Scale were implemented in them. Data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient and regression in SPSS-24 software.
Results: The results showed that secure and ambivalent attachment style has no significant relationship with emotional divorce, and avoidant attachment style and emotional divorce have a significant positive relationship. Also, avoidant and ambivalent attachment style has a significant positive relationship with marital burnout and secure attachment style has a significant negative relationship with marital burnout. The results of the structural equation model showed that attachment styles have an effective role on emotional divorce and marital burnout. The results of the structural equation model showed an acceptable model.
Conclusion: The present study shows the defects in the functioning of attachment styles in the form of emotional divorce and marital burnout. This means that the interaction of these dysfunctions causes a person to choose answers in conflict situations that appear in the form of inappropriate and perhaps impulsive behaviors. In the meantime, attachment styles also influence the type of behavioral output of a person, and the environment, which acts as a personality processor and ontology, makes a person more vulnerable to behavioral abnormalities.
