M. S is one of the most common chronic diseases of the central nervous system. This disease causes many mental disorders in people, among which anxiety thoughts and lack of life expectancy are very common. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of cognitive-behavioral therapy in reducing anxiety thoughts and life expectancy in women with MS in Tehran.
Method
The present study is a quasi-experimental research with pre-test-post-test design and follow-up with the control group and using the selection of subjects in the experimental and control groups. The statistical population of the present study consisted of all women with MS who are members of the MS Association of Tehran. The sample of the present study was selected from 30 people by purposive sampling method and randomly assigned to experimental (n = 15) and control (n = 15) groups. The experimental group was exposed to cognitive-behavioral therapy for 8 sessions of 1 and a half hours and no intervention was performed for the control group. The research instruments included Schneider et al.'s (1991) Hope Scale, and the Wales Anxiety Thoughts Scale (1994). In this study, multivariate and univariate analysis of covariance, repeated measures analysis of variance have been used.
Findings
The results showed that the effect of cognitive-behavioral therapy was to reduce anxiety thoughts and life expectancy in women with MS in Tehran. (0.001). The role and effect of cognitive-behavioral therapy in reducing anxiety thoughts and life expectancy in women with MS was emphasized. Conclusion The results of the study indicate that sick women with M. They should also be psychologically monitored by a physician so that they do not suffer more than one injury. Conclusion
The enrichment of the present study is that patients with M. They are prone to other diseases in the psychological field, which we call multifaceted. Institutions related to the affairs of these patients must always consider the consequences of this disease.
