زمینه و هدف: ناتوانی در شناخت هیجانات در کودکان اوتیسم، سبب بروز رفتارهای خشونت‌آمیز آنان علیه خود و دیگران می‌شود که تضعیف رابطه اجتماعی و مشکلات روانی برای آنان را در پی دارد. بنابراین هدف پژوهش حاضر بررسی تأثیر آموزش بازشناسی هیجان‌های چهره به کودکان مبتلا به اوتیسم با عملکرد بالا بر رابطه مادر- فرزندی آنان بود.
روش کار: پژوهش حاضر به‌صورت نیمه تجربی، از نوع تک آزمودنی و بر روی 5 کودک پسر  سن مدرسه مبتلا به اوتیسم با عملکرد بالا انجام شد. از نرم‌افزار آموزشی LFI برای بازشناسی هیجان‌های چهره استفاده شد و در طی 8 جلسه و در مدت یک ماه، آموزش داده شد. پرسشنامه رابطه مادر- فرزندی (MCRE) قبل و بعد از آموزش، و در مرحله پایه و پی گیری توسط مادران تکمیل گردید. برای تجزیه‌وتحلیل داده‌ها، از آمار توصیفی و استنباطی (ویلکاکسون و فریدمن) توسط نرم‌افزار SPSS نسخه 16 استفاده گردید و سطح معناداری 05/0 در نظر گرفته شد.
یافته‌ها: یافته‌ها نشان داد میانگین رتبه در جلسه اول کمترین میزان و در جلسات بعدی تا جلسه 8 افزایش داشته است و نمونه‌ها در هر جلسه پیشرفت داشته‌اند (05/0p<). همچنین بین نمره حیطه پذیرش قبل و بعد از آموزش، اختلاف معناداری وجود داشت (05/0p<).
نتیجه‌گیری: بر اساس نتایج حاصل از پژوهش، نرم‌افزار آموزشی LFI تأثیر مثبتی در بهبود رابطه مادر و کودک مبتلابه اوتیسم با عملکرد بالا دارد. بنابراین، و علاوه بر توصیه استفاده از این نرم‌افزار در بهبود رابطه مادر- فرزندی، تیم تحقیق پیشنهاد می کنند تاثیر آن  بر سایر ابعاد زندگی کودکان مبتلا به اوتیسم مورد بررسی قرار گیرد.
