Based on the values of correlation coefficient in Table (1), emotional intelligence has a direct and significant relationship with integrated, dominant, compromise and required conflict resolution styles and an inverse and significant relationship with avoidance style. The correlation coefficient between emotional intelligence and irrational beliefs was -0.77, which indicates an inverse and significant relationship. The patterns of expectation / withdrawal and reciprocal avoidance have an inverse and significant relationship with emotional intelligence with -0.64 and -0.61 correlation coefficients, respectively. The pattern of reciprocal constructive relationship with a correlation coefficient of 0.75 has a direct and significant relationship with emotional intelligence. Marital conflicts have an inverse and significant relationship with integrated, dominant, compromise and binding conflict resolution styles and a direct and significant relationship with avoidance style. There is a direct and significant relationship between marital conflicts and irrational beliefs of 0.68. There is a significant inverse relationship between marital conflicts and emotional intelligence with a correlation coefficient of -0.68. The patterns of expectation / withdrawal and mutual avoidance have a direct and significant relationship with marital conflicts with correlation coefficients of 0.55 and 0.53, respectively. The pattern of reciprocal constructive relationship with correlation coefficient of -0.66 has a significant inverse relationship with marital conflicts.
As can be seen in Table 2, the styles of integration, avoidance, dominance, and compromise do not have a direct effect on emotional intelligence. But the required style has a direct effect on emotional intelligence and is a positive predictor of emotional intelligence. Irrational beliefs also have a direct effect on emotional intelligence and are a negative predictor of emotional intelligence. On the other hand, the expectation / withdrawal relationship and the avoidance communication pattern do not have a direct effect on emotional intelligence. But the pattern of constructive interaction has a direct effect on emotional intelligence and is a positive predictor of emotional intelligence. Also, in the present study, it was found that integration, avoidance and binding styles directly affect marital conflicts and are negative predictors of marital conflicts. But dominant styles and compromises do not directly affect marital conflicts. On the other hand, irrational beliefs directly affect marital conflicts and irrational beliefs are positive predictors of marital conflicts. Also, patterns of expectation / withdrawal relationship, reciprocal avoidance relationship do not directly affect marital conflicts. But the pattern of reciprocal constructive relationship directly affects marital conflicts and is a negative predictor of marital conflicts. Finally, emotional intelligence has a direct impact on marital conflict and emotional intelligence is a negative predictor of marital conflict.
4-DiscussionIn the present study, it was found that the required conflict resolution style, irrational beliefs and communication pattern of interaction have an indirect effect on marital conflicts through emotional intelligence. This finding of the present study is a confirmation of a large number of studies that have investigated this relationship using similar structures. Research shows that the mediating role of emotional intelligence with family communication patterns (38), the mediating role of emotional intelligence in the relationship between attachment style and dysfunctional (39), the mediating role of emotional intelligence in the effect of mindfulness on satisfaction with Life and mental stress (40). Explaining this finding, it can be said that when spouses have the ability to understand the emotions of the other party and can establish a proper social relationship, they can choose appropriate ways to solve their problems. Emotional management involves how one perceives emotional progress in one's relationships with others. These relationships can be unpredictable. Emotional management allows the individual to choose and take the best strategy in the relationship (40).
