زمینه و هدف: چاقی شایع­ترین اختلال سوخت و سازی و مهم­ترین مشکل دهه اخیر به شمار می­رود. فعالیت ورزشی با تأثیر بر  PGC-1α و متعاقب آن افزایش مایوکاین آیریزین موجب تغییر ساختار بافت چربی سفید و تبدیل آن به بافت چربی قهوه­ای می­شود و می­تواند اثرات منفی چاقی را کاهش دهد. هدف از پژوهش حاضر بررسی تأثیر 12 هفته تمرین پیلاتس بر مقادیر پلاسمایی PGC-1α و آیریزین زنان چاق بود.
روش کار: پژوهش حاضر از نوع توسعه­ای و روش آن نیمه­تجربی به صورت پیش­آزمون، پس­آزمون بود. جامعه آماری پژوهش حاضر کلیه زنان چاق با BMI بالاتر از 30 و دامنه سنی 25 تا 35 سال شهر سمنان بودند. از این جامعه، تعداد 30 نفر به عنوان نمونه آماری به صورت در دسترس انتخاب و به طور تصادفی در دو گروه آزمایش و کنترل قرار گرفتند. گروه آزمایش پروتکل تمرین ورزشی پیلاتس که شامل انجام حرکات کششی، قدرتی، هماهنگی عصبی عضلانی و تعادل بود را به مدت 12 هفته، هر هفته سه جلسه و هر جلسه 5/1 ساعت اجرا کردند. از روش الایزا برای اندازه­گیری متغیرهای PGC-1α و آیریزین در 48 ساعت قبل از شروع پروتکل تمرینی و 48 ساعت پس از آخرین جلسه تمرین استفاده گردید. از روش تحلیل کوواریانس در سطح معنا­داری (05/0p≤) برای تجزیه و تحلیل داده­ها استفاده ­شد.
یافته­ ها: نتایج نشان داد 12 هفته تمرین ورزشی پیلاتس منجر به افزایش معنادار در  PGC-1α (027/0p=) و آیریزین (001/0p=) در گروه آزمایش نسبت به گروه کنترل شد.
نتیجه­ گیری: به طور کلی، نتایج پژوهش حاضر نشان می­دهد 12 هفته تمرین پیلاتس می­تواند موجب افزایش PGC-1α و آیریزین پلاسمایی ­شود و می­توان بیان کرد که احتمالاً این نوع تمرین تأثیر مثبتی بر تبدیل بافت چربی سفید به چربی قهوه­ای و افزایش گرمازایی در بدن می­شود.
