زمینه و هدف: این مطالعه جهت شناسایی شیوع انحرافات ستون مهره‌ای نظیر وضعیت سر به جلو یا (FHP- Forward Head Postureکیفوز تشدید یافته ناحیه سینه­ای، لوردوز تشدید یافته ناحیه کمری و اسکولیوز در میان دانش‌آموزان 7 تا 9 ساله در ناحیه جنوب تهران انجام شد.
 روش کار: این مطالعه مقطعی بر روی 2114 دانش‌آموز سالم با میانگین سنی 81/0± 99/7 انجام شد که 1059 نفر آن‌ها دختر و 1055 نفر آن‌ها پسر بودند. مشخصات فردی، ارزیابی مشاهده‌ای صفحه ساجیتال نسبت به خط شاقولی از نمای طرفی بدن و ارزیابی اسکولیوز با آزمون خم کردن به جلو یا (FBT-Forward Bending Test) انجام و در SPSS نسخه 21 ثبت شد. ارتباط میان متغیرها با روش رگرسیون بررسی شد.
یافته‌ها: شیوع FHP 4/68%، لوردوز تشدید یافته 1/69%، کیفوز تشدید یافته 6/68% و اسکولیوز 7/15% به دست آمد. ارتباط معنی‌داری میان FHP با سن و جنس، همچنین میان کیفوز تشدید یافته با شاخص توده بدنی (BMI- Body Mass Index) و نیز میان لوردوز تشدید یافته با جنسیت و BMI در نهایت میان اسکولیوز با BMI به دست آمد. کیفوز تشدید یافته، لوردوز تشدید یافته و اسکولیوز در میان دختران بیشتر بود درحالی‌که FHP در پسران شایع بود. کودکان با BMI کم مستعد بروز لوردوز تشدید یافته، کیفوز تشدید یافته و اسکولیوز بودند. همچنین ارتباط معنی‌داری میان انحرافات ستون مهره‌ای و نحوه حمل کیف مدرسه به دست نیامد.
نتیجه‌گیری: با توجه به شیوع زیاد انحرافات ستون مهره‌ای در این گروه سنی، انجام یک برنامه غربالگری منظم در مدارس جهت شناسایی و درمان این کودکان و نیز شیوع معنی‌دار انحرافات ستون مهره‌ای در کودکان با BMI کم، لزوم توجه والدین به توده بدنی متناسب کودکان ضروری به نظر می‌رسد.
