اختلالات روانپزشکی و رفتاری در بیماران مبتلا به صرع مزمن بالا بوده و اختلالات شخصیت در مطالعات مختلف در این بیماران بین 4 تا 38% گزارش شده است. وجود اختلالات شخصیت در بیماران مصروع می تواند منجر به اختلال در عملکرد، رعایت دستورات درمانی اعم از دارویی و غیردارویی و سازگاری با بیماری و سایر استرس ها شود که همگی در کنترل حملات صرع نقش دارند و بدیهی است تشخیص و درمان آن سبب کمک به درمان 10 ماه به درمانگاه صرع بیمارستان رسول اکرم (ص) مراجعه کردند وارد مطالعه شدند. گردآوری اطلاعات مرتبط با حملات صرع به وسیله روانپزشک و با استفاده از اطلاعات کلینیکی در دسترس مثل پرونده، شرح حال، Roman""> شایع ترین اختلال شخصیت اختلال شخصیت افسرده (%19) بود و در مجموع %36 بیماران حداقل به یک نوع اختلال شخصیت مبتلا بودند. وضعیت شغلی-تحصیلی در بیماران مبتلا به اختلالات شخصیت بدتر بود. خصوصیات Comorbidity of personality disorders in epileptic patients could cause dysfunction, poor compliance, maladjustment and other psychological distresses which are important in the treatment of epilepsy, therefore the diagnosis and treatment of personality disorders could be helpful in management of epilepsy.
