Methods: In this sectional study 56 patients with COPD were recruited. The COPD condition was confirmed in these patients following spirometry. Serum vitamin D level of all patients was measured and categorized according to the 5 stages of 0,1,2,3, and 4 suggested by Global Initiative on Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD). The data were analyzed using SPSS v. 18. Results: The mean age of patients was 68.1 ± 10.3. About%76 of patients were men. The study indicated that%85.1 of the patients were suffering from vitamin D deficiency with the level less than 30 mg /dl. Also, it was indicated that there is a direct and linear relation between serum vitamin D level and forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) volume(p= 0.03), (B= 0.4). Conclusion: The study demonstrated that vitamin D deficiency in COPD patients is highly prevalent. Thus, diagnostic examinations of vitamin D deficiency and on time treatment can prevent from many related problems in these patients. M3 ER -
