Abstract
Background and Aim: Psychotherapy is a way to help people with mental disorders and emotional problems. This method can improve people's performance and improve their well-being by reducing their symptoms. Psychotherapy is based on the relationship between the client and the psychologist, and providing a supportive environment gives you the opportunity to talk to someone who is non-judgmental about your issues. Some people cannot easily cope with the big changes that happen in their lives. For example, the loss of a job or the death of a loved one are events that people sometimes have trouble adapting to. Others seek help for a physical illness that has interfered with their daily social and emotional lives. Sometimes people only need guidance for short-term problems. Some also refer to a psychologist after feeling depression, anxiety, or anger for a long time or other behavioral and emotional problems. In general, psychotherapy does not have serious side effects. But because in its process, painful feelings and experiences are explored, it can evoke feelings of discomfort in clients. In many cases, this unpleasant feeling is the result of the changes that are taking place due to this treatment and is actually a part of the treatment process. If your therapist has the ability to determine the best treatment, psychotherapy will be completely uncomplicated. In addition, during treatment, you will learn adaptive skills that can help you manage these unpleasant feelings. Bereavement is an inevitable experience in every person's life. People's ability to accept grief is in a wide range from accepting grief to serious consequences. Mourning can lead to morbid mourning, most researchers have stated that mourning may lead to physical and mental problems including depression. Losing a child is a special and unique grief that is more intense than other types of grief and leads to more serious symptoms that last longer. The death of a child disrupts the balance of the family, and the adverse effects of this loss on the balance of the family can remain for many years. The existence of a research need to develop the concept of depression and initial maladaptive schemas in the field of various psychological problems, especially in the field of complex bereavement issues, as well as identifying the main core of anxiety and stress, was the main motivation for conducting this research. The purpose of this research is psychotherapy based on improving conflicts on the intensity of perceived stress and reducing depression in people with complicated grief.
Method: The method of this research is a pre-test and post-test design with a reference group. The statistical population of the present study consists of those who refer to welfare and counseling centers in Tehran, based on DSM5 criteria and clinical interviews for the diagnosis of complicated bereavement, who have been bereaved for at least 3 months. The library method was used to compile the literature and Spss 21 software was used to analyze the data.
Results: The data obtained from the implementation of psychotherapy based on the improvement of conflicts on the progress of perceived stress, and depression of people referring to welfare and counseling centers were presented on two experimental groups and a control group. This test was performed on the test group and the control group in a pre-test and a post-test stage, with the difference that psychotherapy based on conflict improvement was not applied to the control group. The findings showed that the probability of significance related to the group variable is less than 0.05 and the F statistic for this variable is greater than the critical value (1.96), which indicates the existence of a significant statistical difference between the group receiving treatment based on conflict improvement. With the witness group. Also, according to the average of the variables, this difference is towards the post-test group or the recipient of treatment based on the improvement of conflicts. In other words, it can be concluded that the amount of perceived stress in the experimental group after receiving psychotherapy based on improving conflicts is lower than the amount of perceived stress in the control group.
Conclusion: Psychotherapy is a way to help people with mental disorders and emotional problems. This method can improve people's performance and improve their well-being by reducing their symptoms. Psychotherapy is based on the relationship between the client and the psychologist, and providing a supportive environment gives you the opportunity to talk to someone non-judgmental about your issues. Some people cannot easily cope with the big changes that happen in their lives. Anxiety disorders are often associated with depression. It is very important to treat both disorders simultaneously. Many people with anxiety disorders understand that their thoughts are irrational, but still cannot stop them. People with depression and anxiety disorders (social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder) or irrational fears often spend their lives in a turbulent state, and treating depression and anxiety in these people is very important. The results of this paper showed that psychotherapy based on improving conflicts is effective on depression (subscales) and psychotherapy based on improving conflicts is effective on improving negative reactions (subscales) of people suffering from complex bereavement.
