The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between perfectionism and suicidal ideation and attempt among teenagers. Method: The present study was a descriptive type with a review method, in order to find relevant studies of the keywords perfectionism, perfectionism, perfectionism with adolescent suicide, adolescent suicidal ideation, adolescent suicidal attempt and adolescent self-harm in the international databases WEB OF SCIENCE, SCIENCEDIRECT, SCOPUS, SPRINGER, GOOGLE.SCHOLAR and SID, NOORMAGS, MAGIRAN and ISC internal databases were searched until April 20, 1402. 14 studies out of 241 studies were selected after meeting the criteria for entering the research. Results: The results showed that there is a relationship between perfectionism and suicidal ideation in adolescent, but perfectionism may be related to the suicidal attempt of adolescent through the accelerating role of mental disorders related to suicide such as depression and despair. Also, limited studies showed that there was no relationship between hard-working perfectionism and adolescent suicidal ideation and attempt. Conclusion: Although various studies showed that perfectionism can be directly and indirectly related to adolescent suicide, other studies also showed that all types of perfectionism are not related to adolescent suicide. In order to reduce the number of suicides and improve the mental health of adolescent, it is suggested that mental health professionals pay special attention to their perfectionism in the treatment of suicidal adolescent.
