Objective: The present study was conducted to explain the relationship between cybernetic management functions and organizational inertia with the mediating role of knowledge management.
Methodology: This research is applied considering purpose and was conducted by descriptive-survey method. The statistical population of the study included managers, deputies and experts of Fars Province Sport and Youth offices. Based on Morgan table by stratified random sampling, 59 managers and deputies and 169 experts were selected as the research samples. The research instruments included questionnaires of Ghorbanizadeh and Asadpour (2010) cybernetic functions, Hogg organizational inertia (2014) and Newman and Conrad knowledge management (1999) whose validity and reliability were confirmed. Data analysis was performed using structural equation models and path analysis.
Results: The results showed that the functions of cybernetic management and knowledge management have a direct reducing effect on organizational inertia. The results also showed that the functions of cybernetic management induce indirect effect on reducing this organizational inertia with the mediating role of employee knowledge management.
Conclusion: It seems that the functions of cybernetic management improve employee performance by coordinating the internal environment of sports offices. So, it is suggested that managers help to improve the level of cybernetic by appropriate feedback.
