زمینه و هدف: آموزش صحیح بیماران مبتلا به آسم توسط داروسازان، نقش مهمی در کنترل بیماری آسم و بهبود کیفیت زندگی بیماران دارد. این مطالعه با هدف بررسی دانش و مهارت داروسازان شهر اصفهان در رابطه با روش صحیح استفاده از اسپری­های تنفسی با استفاده از روش بیمارنما صورت گرفت.
روش کار: از مجموع داروخانه‌های شهری اصفهان 100 داروخانه جهت مطالعه حاضر انتخاب گردید. 4 نوع اسپری تنفسی (هر کدام 25 داروخانه) مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفت شامل: Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI) (با یا بدون دم یار)، توربوهالر  و revolizer. پرسشگر به صورت ناشناس در یک تماس رودررو جهت ارزیابی دانش و عملکرد داروساز در خصوص استفاده از اسپری تنفسی مراجعه می نمود. سپس چک‌لیستی را که حاوی مراحل استفاده از اسپری تنفسی بود را تکمیل می نمود.
یافته‌ها: در مجموع 100 داروساز شامل 70 مرد با میانگین سنی 4/12±3/42 مورد مطالعه قرار گرفتند. بیشتر از 50% داروسازان در استفاده از MDI (با یا بدون دم یار) تکنیک ضعیفی داشتند. اکثریت داروسازان (حدود 90%) روش صحیح استفاده از توربوهالر را نمی‌دانستند. در مورد Revolizer نتایج قابل قبول بود و بیشتر از 70% تکنیک مناسبی داشتند. آنالیزهای آماری نشان داد که بین سن و سابقه کاری داروسازان با میزان دانش و عملکرد آنها رابطه معکوس وجود دارد ( 18/0- = r ، 037/0: p در مورد سن و 16/0-= r و 05/0:p سابقه کاری).
نتیجه‌گیری: یافته‌های این مطالعه نشان می‌دهد که اطلاعات و عملکرد داروسازان پیرامون استفاده صحیح از اسپری‌های تنفسی ضعیف است. با عنایت به نقش و جایگاه ممتاز داروسازان در آموزش بیماران، افزایش اطلاعات و تقویت عملکرد آن‌ها در این مورد ضروری است.
