Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic, life threatening systemic disorder that may affect multiple organs in the body. Dysfunction of the immune system, leading to over production of antibodies and immune complexes cause wide arrays of clinical feature. The classification criteria of SLE were updated in 2012. Treatment of SLE is individualized based on severity and extent of organ involvement. Nowadays, treat to target approach makes much more medications available and holds much more promise on the management of SLE.
