زمینه و هدف: از آن جایی که اعتیاد، یک بیماری زیستی، روان شناختی و اجتماعی است و به‌دلیل ماهیت پیش رونده‌اش همه ابعاد زندگی، فرد، خانواده و اجتماع را به خطر می‌اندازد، پژوهش حاضر با هدف بررسی تجربه زیسته خانواده‌های معتادان از انگ بیماری اﻋﺘﻴـﺎد یک یا چند تن از اعضای خانواده، بوده است.
روش کار: اﻳﻦ ﭘﮋوﻫﺶ با رویکرد کیفی و ﺑﺎ روش ﭘﺪﻳﺪارﺷﻨﺎﺳﻲ انجام شد. نمونه‌گیری به روش مبتنی بر هدف صورت گرفت و داده‌ها از طریق مصاحبه‌های نیم ساختار یافته، با 30 نفر از اعضای خانواده افراد معتاد شهر تهران تا رسیدن به اشباع اطلاعاتی جمع‌آوری شد.
 یافته‌ها: نتایج حاصل از یافته‌ها در چهار طبقه اصلی، نوع رفتار اعضای خانواده (با چهار زیر طبقه شامل نرمی و ملایمت در گفتار، بی‌تفاوتی خانواده نسبت به فرد و اعتیاد، سرپوشی به امید خود فهمی و درگیری با فرد معتاد و اعضای خانواده)، روابط اجتماعی اعضای خانواده (با چهار زیر طبقه شامل کم شدن روابط به‌دلیل شرم و خجالت، کم شدن روابط به‌دلیل سرزنش اطرافیان و کم شدن روابط به دلیل پرسش و نوع نگاه اطرافیان)، نوع رفتار اطرافیان با خانواده (با سه زیر طبقه شامل سرزنش اطرافیان، طعنه و کنایه اطرافیان و ترحم) و انگ اجتماعی (با سه زیر طبقه شامل عدم قبول جامعه نسبت به بیماری اعتیاد، انگ استعداد به اعتیاد و انگ بیماری) بیان شد.
نتیجه‌گیری: با توجه به نتایج حاصل از یافته‌های این تحقیق می‌توان به انگ بیماری و پیامدهای همراه با آن به عنوان یکی از مسائل قابل تامل درباره خانواده‌های معتادان بیشتر پرداخته شود.
