زمینه و هدف: اختلالات کروموزومی می‌تواند یکی از علل مشکلات باروری، ازجمله ناباروری و سقط جنین باشد. شناسایی اختلالات کروموزومی با تکنیک‌های تشخیصی بالینی عمدتاً از طریق کاریوتایپینگ استاندارد انجام می‌شود. در غربالگری جاری، شیوع این‌گونه اختلالات در افرادی با مشکلات باروری از جمعیت غرب ایران بررسی شده است.
روش کار: یک بررسی‌سیتوژنتیکی آینده‌نگر بر روی 200 مورد (124 زن (5±1/28) و 76 (5±7/30) مرد) با مشکلات باروری و سن متوسط 5±81/30 برای ناهنجاری‌های کروموزومی با استفاده از کاریوتایپ معمولی انجام شد.
یافته‌ها: انواع آنومالی‌های کروموزومی در 62 نفر (31 درصد) مشاهده شد (به‌ترتیب 35 نفر با سقط مکرر و 27 نفر با نازایی). شیوع جابجایی‌ها، حذف‌ها، واژگونی‌ها، مضاعف شدن‌ها و اضافه شدن‌ها به‌ترتیب (25) 432/40%، (14)6 /22%، (11) 74/17%، (6) 7/9%، (6) 7/9% بود. بیشترین شیوع اختلال متعلق به جابجایی‌های کروموزومی بود (32/40%).
نتیجه‌گیری: شیوع بالای ناهنجاری کروموزومی (31%) در جمعیت مورد مطالعه نشان داد که مشاوره ژنتیکی بایستی برای تشریح ریسک عود و همچنین نیاز به تشخیص قبل از تولد در بارداری‌های بعدی خانواده‌ها با مدیریت بیماران از طریق بانک اطلاعاتی، فراهم باشد.
