Background & Aims: Health is the most important physical capital of people in society, and the most important aspect of health is realized directly with the concept of physical and physical activity (1). On the other hand, having physical activity in the daily schedule leads to reduction of anxiety and depression and increase of physical self-concept and mental toughness (2). And a higher level of physical activity and sports participation is positively effective in improving academic performance, including cognitive performance, academic behavior and academic grades of individuals (4). One of the important concepts of positive psychology, which has received serious attention in recent years in the field of organizational behavior, and has recently entered university education studies, is the concept of psychological capital. Psychological capital is a positive, realistic and flexible psychological state towards life, which consists of four constructs: hope, optimism, resilience and self-efficacy, and each of them is considered as a positive psychological capacity. is taken It has a valid measurement scale, is based on theory and research, and depends on the state and ability to observe, and is significantly related to functional outcomes (6). Also, sports as an important human phenomenon has found an important role in the structure of different societies (7). Participation in sports activities as an important issue has always been discussed and efforts have been made by researchers in this regard (8). Psychological capital is a positive developmental state of psychology with the characteristics of committing and making the necessary effort to succeed in challenging tasks, having a positive attitude about present and future successes, persistence on the way to the goal and changing the path to reach it if necessary. To aim for success and sustainability. When facing difficulties and problems, it is to achieve success (9).Also, the uncertainty of the psychological factors affecting the development of the physical activity of the faculty members has made it impossible to use the capacities of the existing psychological structure in the individual and environmental fields to improve the development of the physical activity of the faculty members. This problem has made the research gap regarding the influence of psychological factors effective on the development of physical activity of faculty members to be fully understood. With this in mind, the purpose of this research is to influence psychological factors on the development of physical activity of faculty members.
Methods: The current research method is a field survey. The present research is one of applied research. The statistical population of this research included faculty members of state universities, whose number was about 27 thousand people based on the information obtained. Based on random selection and according to Morgan's sample size table, 379 people were identified as the research sample. Finally, after distributing and collecting the research questionnaires, 360 questionnaires were analyzed. The present research tool included a researcher-made questionnaire that was designed according to the research objectives. This questionnaire investigated psychological factors (mental health, motivation, social interactions, social support, self-efficacy and self-esteem) with 30 questions and participation in sports activities with 5 questions. The questions of this questionnaire were finalized after examining the opinions of experts and also studying the theoretical foundations of the research in the form of the Delphi method. The members of the Delphi team include 13 experts who are knowledgeable about the research topic. In the present research, the reliability of this questionnaire was determined to be 0.86. In order to conduct the present research, the researcher distributed the questionnaires among the research samples while obtaining the necessary permits. In this way, according to the sampling based on geographical regions and according to the dispersion and size of each university; Sampling was done from all over the country. In order to analyze the data of the current research, the statistical method of structural equations was used. The whole process of quantitative research data analysis was done in SPSS and Amos software.
Results: The results of the research model revealed that self-efficacy, motivation, social interactions, social support, self-efficacy and self-esteem have a significant effect on the development of participation in physical activities. In order to check the fit of the research model, selected indicators were used. And the fit indices of the model are suitable
Conclusion: It seems that psychological issues can become the basis for their presence in sports environments by creating mental preparation among faculty members. Undoubtedly, creating favorable support systems to improve people's psychological indicators; It can prepare them to participate in sports environments (32). In various researches, the functions of mental preparation for the presence of people in sports environments have been mentioned (28,29). It seems that psychological factors such as self-efficacy, motivation, social interactions, social support, self-efficacy and self-esteem through the promotion of psychological systems in the path of sports development can be a serious ground for improving the sports performance of faculty members in the direction of development. and provide the expansion of sports activities. Sports and leisure sports are fun and attractive times that have created different physical and mental capacities in people. As health development has been considered as a key and valuable issue in different countries. Therefore, according to the research process, it is suggested to managers and officials of universities to be coherent in carrying out a set of behaviors related to health and health, empowering people to increase control of health-related factors and as a result increase health, promote people's social health. and consider communities important and help their growth through education.
